Hello! My name is Melanie Boling, CNM. I have worked in women’s health for 26 years. My experience includes working as a labor and delivery nurse as well as caring for mothers and babies in the postpartum period. I have also served as an instructor of fetal monitoring as well as neonatal resuscitation (NRP). I have worked as a midwife for the past year and a half.

I knew going through nursing school that I was meant to be a labor and delivery nurse. Although the thought of becoming a midwife was something I entertained occasionally, I was busy raising a family. Besides, I had never worked with any midwives, so I wasn’t really sure what that would even mean. But God did.

As a believer, and a nurse who was struggling with burn out, I prayed for a career change. My plans were to get out of nursing altogether. But God had other plans. And so, He sent a midwife to work at the hospital where I was a labor and delivery nurse. This changed everything! The more I worked alongside this midwife, the clearer I could hear God”s voice telling me this was to be my path as well.

After graduating from ECU Midwifery School in May, 2023, I relocated to the coast of NC. I worked as a CNM at an OBGYN office who delivered babies at the local hospital. Although I loved taking care of mothers and babies, I felt that I not only needed to be closer to my home (Seagrove, NC), but that I was called into this role to offer women more options when it comes to their health care across the lifespan.

I am proud to be a part of New Eden Birth & Wellness, PLLC. I am excited to be able to serve my community and surrounding areas. I look forward to connecting with you and discussing how midwifery care can benefit you!
