There are some private insurance policies that may reimburse you once you have paid for services and the 6 weeks postpartum global time period has passed. You can receive an itemized bill of services if you wish at this time. Medicaid does NOT reimburse for home birth services, unless they are an approved provider. We are not approved providers for Medicaid. ALL DEPOSITS AND PAYMENTS ARE FINAL. THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS.

READY TO TAKE THE NEXT STEP?

Your visits could be eligible for reimbursement by your insurance plan, so an Super-Bill will be provided when requested.

Your Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) is a fully integrated licensed medical provider in the state of North Carolina, so FSA and HSA cards are acceptable payments, among other credit/debit/cash/check payments.

The ONLY reason your visit may be rescheduled at the last moment would be in the rare case of a medical emergency by the CNM or if the CNM is at a birth. In these rare situations, your CNM will make EVERY effort to reschedule your visit at your earliest convenience.

Return and Refund Policy

All deposits, retainers, and payments made for home birth midwifery services are FINAL AND NON-REFUNDABLE.

By enrolling in care and submitting payment, clients acknowledge that fees paid are not solely for attendance at the birth. Midwifery fees compensate the practice for the comprehensive care, professional services, clinical availability, preparation, and on-call commitment provided throughout the course of care.

There are absolutely no refunds, including when care does not proceed as originally planned. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Transfer to the hospital during pregnancy, labor, birth, or postpartum
  • Planned or emergency hospital birth
  • Development of a medical condition or complication requiring hospital-based or higher-level care
  • Risking out of home birth or becoming ineligible for home birth under the practice's clinical guidelines
  • Transfer of care to a physician, hospital-based provider, or another midwifery practice
  • Client's decision to discontinue care or choose a different birth location or provider
  • Induction of labor or cesarean birth
  • Preterm birth or other circumstances preventing the planned home birth
  • Miscarriage, stillbirth, fetal demise, or neonatal loss
  • Any other circumstance in which the planned home birth does not occur

The occurrence of an unexpected pregnancy or birth outcome does not negate services already rendered or the practice's commitment of time, resources, clinical care, and on-call availability.

If a transfer of care becomes medically necessary, the practice will make reasonable efforts to facilitate a safe and appropriate transition of care within its scope and policies. A transfer or change in the planned place or provider of birth does not create eligibility for a refund.

By signing the financial agreement and/or submitting payment, the client acknowledges and agrees to this No Refund Policy and understands that all deposits and payments are final and non-refundable.
